Japan is commanding the spotlight in Plantrip’s latest 24-hour planning data, as travelers map out first-time itineraries spanning Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Nara and the Tohoku region. Among 111 itineraries created on September 14, 2026, plans range from November autumn breaks to December family holidays, with visitors seeking a mix of major landmarks, quieter scenic areas, shopping and hidden gems.
Japan’s appeal is notably broad. One pair of friends is planning a mid-budget Tokyo-to-Osaka journey with both highlights and lesser-known stops, while families are building trips around Tokyo Disney, snow viewing, Mount Fuji, Nikko, Sapporo and the snow monkeys of Nagano. Food, souvenir shopping and photogenic landscapes are recurring priorities, alongside Okinawa self-drive holidays and a Lake Kawaguchi or Kamakura day trip for Mount Fuji views.
India remains a major source of detailed, practical travel planning, especially for road trips, temple circuits and short family breaks. Travelers are plotting routes through Ladakh, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Ooty and Mysuru during Dasara, as well as Goa beach-and-nightlife getaways from Mangalore. Road-based travel is another strong theme, from RV campers seeking free overnight sites between California and Wisconsin or Oregon and West Virginia to carefully paced scenic drives in the Pacific Northwest, Northern Ontario and Italy’s lake region. The plans point to travelers putting as much thought into the journey itself—camping, waterfalls, gardens, local food and scenic stops—as the final destination.
