India, Southeast Asia and Road Trips Lead a Busy Day of Travel Planning
Travelers packed Plantrip.io with 117 new itineraries in the past 24 hours, with India emerging as the day’s clear planning powerhouse. Requests ranged from temple circuits and Himalayan escapes to city breaks in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Ooty, Manali and Ladakh—showing an appetite for trips that combine culture, nature and practical family travel.
Religious and heritage-focused journeys featured prominently. Travelers mapped routes to Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Varanasi; Maharashtra’s Jyotirlinga temples; the Statue of Unity in Gujarat; and a detailed Mumbai-to-Mauritius pre-wedding shopping and sightseeing itinerary. Several plans also centered on hill-country scenery, including Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kodaikanal, Chikmagalur and the Har Ki Dun trekking region.
Southeast Asia was another major draw, led by Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and the Philippines. Travelers sought Hanoi and Ha Long Bay cruises, Ho Chi Minh City food stalls and shopping, Phuket beaches, Penang halal itineraries, Raja Ampat snorkeling and Sri Lanka routes blending beaches, safari, temples and scenic train travel. A Bangkok research dashboard request also pointed to travelers investing heavily in the planning stage before departure.
North American road trips added an outdoorsy counterpoint, with plans for Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, Acadia National Park, Las Vegas-area national parks, and Maine’s coastal towns. City-focused travelers were also building concise itineraries for New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas–Fort Worth, Winnipeg and Springfield, Massachusetts.
European planning remained broad and adventurous, from a budget-minded Balkan rail journey through Hungary, Romania and Greece to multi-country routes linking Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Italy. Across the day’s requests, travelers consistently prioritized active sightseeing, local food, memorable landscapes and efficient transport—whether by train, rental car, RV, bus or road trip.
