Malta and Kashmir Lead a Busy Day of Holiday Planning on Plantrip
Malta emerged as a standout in the latest 24 hours of travel planning on Plantrip.io, where 81 itineraries were created on September 18, 2026. A cluster of solo travelers is mapping out late-December stays in Valletta, with budget-conscious plans built around public transport, hiking, history, culture and vegetarian-friendly dining.
India’s mountain destinations also drew strong attention. Kashmir appeared repeatedly in requests from Chandigarh, including a seven-day November break for four adults with flights, transfers, hotels and experiences. Travelers were also planning Himalayan outings from Kasol and Triund to Munsyari, Darma Valley and Darchula, while Gujarat routes linked Dwarka, Somnath, Sasan Gir and Junagadh for larger groups.
Japan remained a major draw, from simple Tokyo searches to a detailed family holiday from Singapore. One family of three is planning an October stay near Ueno, combining TeamLab Planets, DisneySea for a baby’s birthday, Asakusa, Shibuya, Tsukiji, Mount Fuji and shopping stops including Omotesando and Shinjuku.
Seasonal escapes shaped several other plans. Ottawa’s October itinerary centered on Saunders Farm Pumpkinfest, Parliament Hill, ByWard Market, the Rideau Canal and family attractions such as the Canadian Children’s Museum. Meanwhile, travelers were plotting European Christmas-market rail journeys from Switzerland to Ireland, Prague in December, and a late-December Vietnam route connecting Hanoi, Sapa, Phu Quoc and Da Nang.
Beach and leisure trips rounded out the day’s activity, with Goa, Thailand, Hong Kong and Crete featuring prominently. Plans ranged from a six-day bike ride from Pune to Goa and a Candolim party itinerary to relaxed Phuket-focused honeymoons, Macau ferries and a three-night Crete getaway built around beaches, hikes and villages.
