Shoestring Budget 3-Day Delhi to Ladakh Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Manali
    10 hours (310 miles) from Delhi

    In the morning, drive from Delhi to Manali, a popular hill station known for its scenic beauty. Along the way, stop at the Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib, a Sikh temple with hot springs. In the afternoon, explore the town's markets and cafes. In the evening, visit the Hidimba Devi Temple, an ancient cave temple dedicated to the goddess Hidimba.

  2. Day 2: Manali to Leh
    12 hours (250 miles) from Manali

    Get an early start and drive from Manali to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. On the way, visit the Lamayuru Monastery, one of the largest and oldest monasteries in Ladakh. In the afternoon, stop at Magnetic Hill, a natural wonder where cars appear to roll uphill. Finally, visit the Spituk Monastery, known for its beautiful sculpture and architecture.

  3. Day 3: Leh to Pangong Tso
    5 hours (140 miles) from Leh

    Take a day trip to Pangong Tso, a beautiful high-altitude lake known for its clear blue waters. On the way, stop at the Thiksey Monastery, known for its stunning architecture and large statue of Maitreya Buddha. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the lake, taking in the views and enjoying a picnic lunch. Head back to Leh in the evening.

If you have an extra day, consider visiting the Nubra Valley, known for its sand dunes and double-humped camels. You can also go trekking in the Markha Valley or visit the Alchi Monastery, known for its 11th century murals.
