Mumbai to Kedarnath 4-Day Itinerary on Shoestring Budget

  1. Day 1: Mumbai to Haridwar
    9 hours 30 minutes (885 km) from Mumbai

    In the morning, visit the famous Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. After lunch, head to Haridwar. Once you reach Haridwar, visit the Har Ki Pauri ghat for the evening Aarti. End the day with a visit to Mansa Devi Temple.

  2. Day 2: Haridwar to Guptakashi
    8 hours 30 minutes (225 km) from Haridwar

    In the morning, visit the Chandi Devi Temple via cable car. After lunch, drive to Guptakashi. On the way, stop at Devprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. End the day with a visit to the ancient Vishwanath Temple in Guptakashi.

  3. Day 3: Guptakashi to Kedarnath
    1 hour 30 minutes (33 km) from Guptakashi

    Drive to Gaurikund from Guptakashi and start the 16 km trek to Kedarnath. The trek can be challenging, but the beautiful scenery and views make it worth it. Once you reach Kedarnath, visit the famous Kedarnath Temple and take a dip in the hot water springs.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath to Haridwar
    9 hours 30 minutes (240 km) from Kedarnath

    Start the 16 km trek back to Gaurikund. Drive back to Haridwar. On the way, stop at Rishikesh and visit the famous Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula. End the day with a visit to the Beatles Ashram.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day in Haridwar, visit the Rajaji National Park or go for a river rafting adventure. You can also visit the Kumbh Mela, which happens once every 12 years. For a side trip, visit Badrinath, which is a 2-hour drive from Kedarnath. To maximize your fun, try the delicious local food and shop for souvenirs in the local markets. Lastly, make sure to pack comfortable and warm clothes for the trek and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
