  1. Day 1: Kundadri Hill
30 minutes (9.5 miles) from Thirthahalli

Begin your day with a visit to the stunning Kundadri Hill, a popular pilgrimage site for Jains. The scenic drive to the top takes about 30 minutes, but the panoramic views of the Western Ghats are well worth it. Spend the morning exploring the hill's ancient Jain temple and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

In the afternoon, take a short drive to the nearby Jogigundi Falls. The waterfall cascades down from a height of about 20 feet into a natural pool, making it an ideal spot for a refreshing swim. Afterward, head to the Kavaledurga Fort, a 9th-century fort located on a hilltop. Explore the ruins and take in the stunning views of the surrounding forests and hills.

In the evening, head back to Thirthahalli and enjoy a delicious dinner of traditional Malnad cuisine at one of the town's many local restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Kuppalli and Agumbe
1 hour 20 minutes (38 miles) from Thirthahalli

Start your day with a visit to Kuppalli, the birthplace of famous Kannada poet Kuvempu. Visit the Kavishaila, a rock monument created in Kuvempu's honor, and explore the poet's ancestral home. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive to Agumbe, a picturesque hill station known for its lush rainforests and stunning sunset views.

While in Agumbe, be sure to visit the Rainforest Research Station, where you can learn about the region's unique ecology and wildlife. If you're feeling adventurous, take a guided trek through the rainforest or go on a night-time nature walk to spot nocturnal creatures.

Wrap up your day with a breathtaking view of the sunset at the Sunset Point. The view is especially beautiful during the monsoon season, when the hills and valleys are lush and green.
