2-Day Itinerary for Wonderla and Cochin in August 2023: A City Experience

  1. Day 1: Wonderla Amusement Park
    30 minutes (12 miles) from Cochin

    Morning: Start your day by visiting Wonderla Amusement Park, an excellent amusement park with thrilling rides. Take a ride on the Recoil, India's first reverse-looping roller coaster, or experience the fun of Wave pools, water slides and much more. It's a great place to visit with friends and family, and there are plenty of places to rest and replenish your energy.

    Afternoon: Enjoy your lunch at Park's restaurant - Red Ice, which serves a variety of cuisines and desserts. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere and friendly staff.

    Evening: After lunch, explore the park's other attractions such as the rain disco or lazer show. The park closes at 6 PM, so make sure you've experienced all the rides and thrills before then.

  2. Day 2: Cochin City Tour
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Wonderla Amusement Park

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the Dutch Palace. This palace was built by the Portuguese and presented to the Rajah of Cochin in 1555 AD. The Palace has an impressive collection of murals from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.

    Afternoon: Have lunch at the Seagull restaurant, which has a spectacular view of the Arabian Sea and serves delicious seafood.

    Evening: Visit the Chinese Fishing Nets, which are a popular tourist attraction in Cochin. These nets are fixed land installations that are used for fishing. You can also enjoy a beautiful sunset while taking a walk along the promenade. For dinner, head to the Brunton Boatyard, which is a heritage hotel that serves traditional Kerala cuisine.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, visit the Hill Palace Museum or the Jewish Synagogue. You can also take a day trip to Athirapally Falls, which is a beautiful waterfall that's about 1.5 hours away from Cochin. To maximize your fun, consider renting a bike or scooter to explore Cochin. You can also take a boat ride and explore the backwaters of Cochin. Lastly, don't forget to try the local street food, which is delicious!
