Exploring Mumbai in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Gateway of India
    30 minutes (9.5 km) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

    In the morning, explore the iconic Gateway of India, a monument built to commemorate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. Take a ferry ride to the Elephanta Caves to see the ancient rock-cut temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Spend the afternoon at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, a museum showcasing art, history, and culture of Mumbai. In the evening, stroll along the Marine Drive promenade and enjoy the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Juhu Beach
    30 minutes (10.6 km) from Gateway of India

    Start your day with a visit to the Siddhivinayak Temple, a popular Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Then head to the Hanging Gardens, also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens, for a scenic view of the city. Take a lunch break at the iconic Leopold Cafe & Bar, a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Spend your afternoon at Juhu Beach, one of Mumbai's most popular beaches. In the evening, catch a Bollywood movie at the famous Regal Cinema.

If you have time, visit the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, home to a variety of flora and fauna. You can also take a day trip to the Elephanta Island to see the Elephanta Caves.
