4-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary for Chopta in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Chopta

In the afternoon, visit the Kanchula Korak Musk Deer Sanctuary, home to some of the rarest animals in the world. In the evening, head back to Chopta and explore the local market.

  3. Day 3: Chopta - Ukhimath - Guptkashi - Gaurikund

    In the morning, visit Ukhimath, a quaint little town known for its temples and scenic beauty. In the afternoon, visit Guptkashi, a small town located on the banks of River Mandakini. In the evening, head to Gaurikund, the base camp for the trek to Kedarnath. Take a dip in the hot springs and relax in the serene surroundings.

  4. Day 4: Chopta - Rishikesh
    6 hours 30 minutes (133.7 miles) from Chopta

    In the morning, start your journey back to Rishikesh. On the way, visit the Tehri Dam, one of the tallest dams in the world. In the afternoon, visit the Beatles Ashram, which was once visited by the legendary band in the 60s. In the evening, take a stroll along the Ganges and attend the Ganga Aarti, a beautiful ceremony where lamps are floated in the river.

If you have time, consider visiting Auli, a beautiful hill station known for its skiing and trekking options.
