Recommendations

If you have an extra day, you can visit the Alchi Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful murals and carvings. You can also go rafting on the Zanskar River or trek to the base camp of Stok Kangri, the highest mountain in the Stok Range. To maximize your fun, make sure to acclimate to the high altitude before starting your adventure. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and cigarettes, and take it slow. Also, make sure to pack warm clothes and good hiking shoes. Finally, don't forget to try some local food, such as momos, thukpa, and butter tea.
