Recommendations

If you have more time in Colombo, visit the Independence Memorial Hall and the Old Dutch Hospital. For a side trip from Kandy, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see the baby elephants being fed and bathed. To maximize your fun, try the local cuisine like hoppers, kottu roti, and string hoppers. Don't forget to shop for souvenirs like tea, spices, and handicrafts. Lastly, make sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes as Sri Lanka can get very hot and humid.
