Leave early to avoid city traffic and make steady progress on the long first leg; pack snacks, water, entertainment for the child and a charged power bank.
Visit City Palace (open ~9:30–17:30) to see palaces and museums; follow with a short public boat ride on Lake Pichola (boats until ~6:00pm) for iconic views.
Take a short boat trip to Jag Mandir (if running) or drive up to Sajjangarh for panoramic views over Udaipur; both are scenic and relaxing visits for families.
Explore Bagore Ki Haveli museum during the day and optionally attend the evening folk puppet/dance show (generally starts ~7:00–7:30pm) for cultural entertainment.
Start early to avoid heat and crowds at this hilltop fort with ornate palaces and courtyards; the fort is generally open from ~8:00/9:00 to 17:00—use jeep/taxi access for family comfort.
Visit Chokhi Dhani for a lively village-resort experience with folk dance, puppet shows and camel rides—open evenings and very family-oriented (book in advance).
Visit the tranquil Galta Ji temple complex early to see water tanks, monkeys and a calmer side of Jaipur; best early to avoid crowds and heat (open all day).
For families with older children/adventurous members, Mehrangarh offers zipline options (check age/weight limits) or join an evening cultural program at the fort.
Drive to Bada Bagh to see cenotaphs, then optionally visit the abandoned village of Kuldhara for a mysterious historical stop—both make for photographic outings.
Leisurely afternoon wandering the fort's lanes for handicrafts, textiles and miniature paintings—excellent for picking souvenirs and tasting street snacks.
Enjoy traditional Rajasthani dinner with folk music and dance at the camp; overnight in a comfortable tent is memorable for families—confirm facilities for children.
This is a long haul (~12–16 hours depending on stops). For family comfort, I recommend splitting into two driving days with an overnight at a convenient city (e.g., Surat/Vadodara) or considering a one-way flight/train from Jodhpur to Pune/Mumbai to avoid exhaustion.
If driving through, expect late arrival—booking an overnight stop in Vadodara/Surat is recommended for safety and comfort. If you chose to fly/train, arrive home and relax.
