5-Day City Experience Itinerary for Goa in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Old Goa
    30 minutes (11 miles) from Goa International Airport

    Start your trip with a visit to Old Goa, the former colonial capital of Goa. Stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town and visit the 16th-century Basilica of Bom Jesus, which contains the remains of St. Francis Xavier. In the afternoon, explore Sé Cathedral, the largest church in Asia. End your day with a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River.

  2. Day 2: Panaji City
    30 minutes (9.6 miles) from Old Goa

    Spend the morning wandering through the colorful Fontainhas neighborhood, known for its Portuguese-style houses and winding streets. Visit the Immaculate Conception Church and the Maruti Temple before heading to the State Museum in the afternoon. Finish your day with a dinner of traditional Goan cuisine at one of the city's many restaurants.

  3. Day 3: Mapusa Market and Anjuna Beach

  4. Day 4: Margao and Colva Beach
    40 minutes (16.3 miles) from Anjuna Beach

    Visit Margao, the cultural and commercial capital of South Goa. Explore the Portuguese-style mansions and the Our Lady of Grace Church before heading to Colva Beach. Relax on the wide, sandy beach and take a dip in the Arabian Sea. End your day with a sunset stroll along the beach and a dinner of fresh seafood at a local restaurant.

  5. Day 5: Dudhsagar Falls
    1 hour 30 minutes (41 miles) from Colva Beach

    Take a day trip to the majestic Dudhsagar Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. Enjoy a scenic train ride through the Western Ghats before hiking to the falls. Swim in the natural pools and admire the stunning views. On your way back, stop at a spice plantation for a guided tour and a traditional Goan lunch.
