Two-Day Itinerary for Motorcycle Riding in Kannur in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ride along Payyambalam Beach
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Kannur Railway Station

    In the morning, start your day with a refreshing ride along the picturesque Payyambalam Beach. Enjoy the cool breeze and serene view of the Arabian Sea. Afterward, explore the nearby St. Angelo Fort, which was built by the first Portuguese viceroy in India. In the afternoon, ride to the famous Muzhappilangad Beach, known for being the longest drive-in beach in India. You can also visit the nearby Thalassery Fort and the Jagannath Temple. In the evening, head to the historic Parassinikkadavu Snake Park, which is home to various species of snakes and other reptiles.

  2. Day 2: Ride through the Western Ghats
    1 hour 30 minutes (60 km) from Kannur Railway Station

    On your second day, ride through the beautiful Western Ghats and stop at the breathtaking Paithalmala viewpoint. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains and the lush greenery around you. In the afternoon, head to the Kottiyoor Wildlife Sanctuary, which boasts a rich variety of flora and fauna. You can also visit the nearby Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary. In the evening, visit the historic Kannur Lighthouse, which offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding area.

Recommendations

While in Kannur, you may also want to visit the historic Thalassery Fort, which was built by the British East India Company in the 18th century. You can also take a side trip to the nearby Ranipuram, which is known for its beautiful trekking trails.
