Three Days in Hyderabad - City Experience

  1. Day 1: Charminar
    30 minutes (12 km) from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

    In the morning, visit the iconic Charminar, a 16th-century mosque and monument. Admire the four minarets, intricate carvings, and beautiful arches. Take a stroll through the nearby Laad Bazaar, known for its bangles and traditional Hyderabadi items. In the afternoon, head to the Salar Jung Museum, one of the largest collections of art and artefacts in the world. Explore the three-storey museum and see the Veiled Rebecca, a marble statue of a woman draped in a translucent veil. In the evening, enjoy a light and sound show at the Lumbini Park, overlooking the Hussain Sagar Lake.

  2. Day 2: Golconda Fort
    40 minutes (16 km) from Charminar

    Explore the historic Golconda Fort in the morning, known for its acoustics, architecture, and diamond mines. Take a guided tour of the fort, visit the Durbar Hall and the Royal Palace ruins, and see the Qutb Shahi Tombs. In the afternoon, visit the Qutb Shahi Tombs, a group of seven tombs with beautiful gardens and Persian-style architecture. In the evening, head to the Chowmahalla Palace, the former palace of the Nizams, and see the grand Durbar Hall, the Clock Tower, and the Khilwat Mubarak.

  3. Day 3: Ramoji Film City
    1 hour 20 minutes (40 km) from Golconda Fort

    Visit the world's largest integrated film city, Ramoji Film City, in the morning. Take a guided tour of the film sets, visit the various studios, and see the live stunt shows. In the afternoon, head to the Hussain Sagar Lake and take a boat ride to the picturesque Buddha Statue, a 18-metre high monolith statue of the Buddha. In the evening, visit the GVK One Mall, one of the largest malls in Hyderabad, and enjoy some shopping and dining.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Birla Mandir, a Hindu temple made of white marble, or the Falaknuma Palace, a luxurious palace-turned-hotel. You can also take a side trip to the historic city of Warangal, known for its temples and ruins. To maximize your fun, try some of the local delicacies like Hyderabadi biryani, kebabs, and haleem. Don't forget to bargain at the local markets and bazaars. Finally, take a walk along the Tank Bund Road and soak in the city's atmosphere.
