Badami Family Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for August 2023

  1. Day 1: Cave Temples and Lake

    Take a day trip to Pattadakal and Aihole, two other UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the region. Pattadakal is famous for its group of 8th-century temples, built in both North and South Indian architectural styles. Aihole, known as the "Cradle of Indian Architecture," has over 100 ancient temples and monuments. Spend the day exploring the temple complexes and admiring the intricate carvings and sculptures. Return to Badami in the evening for dinner.

  3. Day 3: Banashankari and Mahakuta
    30 minutes (18.7 km) from Badami

    Visit the Banashankari Temple, dedicated to the goddess Banashankari, in the morning. This 7th-century temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the region.
