Transportation around Ohrid is generally easy and affordable. Taxis are readily available, and most sites are within walking distance of downtown. Public transportation is also available for longer distances. A rental car is recommended for day trips outside of Ohrid. Rental car costs per day are approximately 1500 MKD ($26 USD).
If you have additional time, consider visiting the Monastery of Saint Jovan Bigorski or the Smolare Waterfall. If you have less time, you can skip visiting Prespa Lake and spend more time exploring the beaches around Ohrid. Remember to bring sunscreen, hiking shoes, and comfortable clothes for outdoor activities.
Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD) is the closest airport to Ohrid Lake, located approximately 8 km northwest of downtown. There are flights connecting Ohrid to several destinations within Europe, including Vienna, Zurich, and London.
