7-Day Adventure Itinerary for Valley of Flowers in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Reach Joshimath
    5 hours (184 km) from Jolly Grant Airport

    In the morning, start your journey from Jolly Grant Airport towards Joshimath. On the way, enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas, and visit Devprayag and Rudraprayag. Stop at Kaudiyala for a thrilling white water rafting experience. Reach Joshimath in the evening and check-in to your hotel.

  2. Day 2: Drive to Govindghat and Trek to Ghangaria
    1 hour (21.8 km) from Joshimath to Govindghat, 13 km trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria

    Start early from Joshimath and drive to Govindghat. Start your 13 km trek to Ghangaria, which is the base camp for Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. On the way, explore the beautiful waterfalls, scenic views and enjoy the thrill of crossing the river on a hanging bridge. Reach Ghangaria in the evening and check-in to your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Explore Valley of Flowers

  5. Day 5: Trek back to Govindghat and Drive to Auli

    Trek back to Govindghat and drive towards Auli. En route, visit Badrinath Temple, and Mana village - the last village on the Indian side of the Indo-Tibetan border. Reach Auli in the evening and check-in to your hotel.

  6. Day 6: Auli Adventure Activities
    Within Auli

    Auli is famous for skiing and other adventure sports. Indulge in skiing, snowboarding, or trekking to the Gurson Bugyal, or take a cable car ride to the Auli Artificial Lake, the world's highest man-made lake. Spend the day enjoying the adventure sports in Auli. Return to your hotel in the evening.

  7. Day 7: Departure from Auli
    9 hours (315 km) from Auli to Jolly Grant Airport

    It's time to say goodbye to the beautiful Valley of Flowers. Leave for Jolly Grant Airport in the morning, and on the way, visit Rishikesh, the yoga capital of India. Indulge in some white water rafting on the Ganges and enjoy the scenic beauty of the river valley. Reach the airport in the evening and board your flight back home with unforgettable memories.
