Exploring Puri in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Shree Jagannath Temple
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Puri Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the famous Shree Jagannath Temple and seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Admire the intricate architecture and learn about the history and religious significance of the temple. In the afternoon, head to Golden Beach and enjoy water sports or simply relax by the shore.   2. Day 2: Chilika Lake

In the afternoon, head to Chilika Lake, the largest saltwater lake in India and a birdwatcher's paradise. In the afternoon, visit the Raghurajpur Artist Village and witness the skilled artists creating traditional pattachitra paintings. Learn about the history and techniques of this art form and purchase unique paintings as souvenirs. Return to Puri in the evening and prepare to depart.

Aside from the places mentioned, you can also visit the Puri Beach Market for some street shopping and local snacks. If you have more time, consider a day trip to Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, and visit the Lingaraj Temple and the Nandankanan Zoological Park. To maximize your fun, try out the local delicacies like the seafood thali, chhena poda, and rasgulla. And finally, don't forget to attend the Rath Yatra Festival, held in July, which attracts thousands of devotees and tourists.
