Honeymoon itinerary for Jaipur and Jaisalmer

  1. Day 1: Arrive in Jaipur

    In the morning, visit the Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, to see the intricate architecture and stunning views. In the evening, visit the Nahargarh Fort to enjoy the sunset and panoramic views of the city.

  2. Day 2: Jaipur to Jaisalmer
    Drive to Jaisalmer
    Approximately 10 hours (488 miles) from Jaipur

    Spend the day traveling to Jaisalmer, a city known for its golden sandstone architecture and desert landscape. Take a break in the town of Jodhpur and visit the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India, and enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants. Arrive in Jaisalmer in the evening and explore the vibrant markets and narrow alleys of the city.

  3. Day 3: Jaisalmer City Tour

    Start your day with a visit to the Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore its narrow alleys, temples and havelis. In the afternoon, visit Patwon Ki Haveli, a complex of five havelis that showcase the intricate craftsmanship of the Rajasthani artisans. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride in the Thar Desert and watch the sunset over the sand dunes.

  4. Day 4: Jaisalmer to Jaipur
    Drive to Jaipur
    Approximately 10 hours (488 miles) from Jaisalmer

    Spend the day traveling back to Jaipur. On the way, visit the village of Pushkar and take a dip in the holy Pushkar Lake. Have lunch at the local restaurants and shop for souvenirs at the markets. Arrive in Jaipur in the evening and enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the rooftop restaurants overlooking the city.

If you have extra time in Jaipur, visit the Amer Fort, a magnificent fort built with red sandstone and marble. Attend a cultural show at the Chokhi Dhani, a village resort that showcases the Rajasthani culture and traditions. If you want to explore more of Rajasthan, take a side trip to Udaipur, also known as the City of Lakes, and visit its beautiful palaces and lakes. Maximize your fun by trying the local cuisine, such as dal baati churma, ghevar and lassi. Lastly, don't forget to haggle when shopping at the local bazaars!
