Start your adventure with a visit to the sacred Kedarnath Temple. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. Take a dip in the holy Mandakini River and seek blessings from Lord Shiva. After lunch, embark on a 16 km trek to Vasuki Tal. You will witness the beautiful Vasuki Tal lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You can pitch your tent and camp overnight near the lake.
Start your day early and head towards the Madmaheshwar Temple. It is one of the Panch Kedar and is located at an elevation of 3,289 m above sea level. You can reach the temple by trekking 16 km from Gaundhar. After lunch, you can continue your trek to Kanchani Tal, a beautiful lake located at 4,300 m above sea level. You can camp near the lake and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Start your day with a visit to Sonprayag, a picturesque town located at the confluence of Basuki and Mandakini rivers. You can take a dip in the sacred river and enjoy the serene surroundings. After lunch, head towards the Triyuginarayan Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Parvati got married at this temple. You can also visit the nearby Gaurikund and take a dip in the hot water spring. In the evening, return to Kedarnath.
If you want to experience more adventure, you can also visit the nearby Chopta, a popular trekking destination. You can trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. Another side trip you can take is to the beautiful Deoria Tal, a lake located at an altitude of 2,438 metres. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry appropriate trekking gear and clothing. It is also recommended to hire a local guide for a safe and enjoyable trekking experience. Don't forget to try the local cuisine, especially the Garhwali Thali, a traditional meal of Uttarakhand.
