You arrive Dwarka at 3:00pm; use 30–45 minutes to freshen up, collect luggage and prepare for an onward drive to Somnath. Keep passports/IDs and any temple booking confirmations handy.
Start the road transfer to Somnath (approx. 220–280 km depending on route; expect ~5–6 hours). Night driving is common on this route but take breaks — plan a short tea/comfort stop en route.
Have a late dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant — many hotels serve hot meals late for pilgrims arriving at night. Keep dinner light if you have an early start for morning darshan/sightseeing.
Attend the suprabhat/early darshan at Somnath Temple for a quieter, atmospheric experience by the sea; morning timings typically start early but check the temple noticeboard or website for exact opening times and queue rules.
Short drive to Bhalka Tirth (Krishna’s legendary spot) and Triveni Sangam to see the coastal confluence; these sites are open in daytime and are good for a 45–90 minute visit.
Begin drive from Somnath to Sasan Gir (approx. 65–90 km; ~1.5–2 hours). Aim to reach Gir by late morning/early afternoon — this gives you flexibility to catch an afternoon safari slot if available or to rest before a morning safari next day.
Check in to your Gir lodge or resort near Sasan and have lunch. Use this time to confirm safari bookings (online Forest Dept slot number) and vehicle pickup times — safari slots are limited and must be pre-booked.
If an afternoon safari slot is available and booked (afternoon slots vary by range and season, commonly early–mid afternoon), take the afternoon jeep/vehicle to try for wildlife sightings; otherwise relax and prepare for an early-morning safari next day. Always confirm exact slot timing and park entry rules with the lodge/forest office.
If you did the afternoon safari, return to the lodge to unwind; if not, enjoy the resort grounds, birdwatching or a short guided nature walk (check lodge offerings and timings).
Take a light, early breakfast provided by the lodge so you are energetic but not heavy before the safari; request this the night before as many lodges prepare early meals for safari guests.
Head out for the prime morning safari — the best time to spot Asiatic lions, deer, langurs and birds. Safaris run in fixed slots; ensure you have the Forest Dept booking (jeep/taxi pickup) and reach the gate 30–45 minutes before entry.
Return to the lodge to freshen up, review photos, and rest after the safari. This is a good time for a fuller breakfast/brunch if not hungry right after the safari.
Start the drive back north-west to Dwarka (approx. 250–320 km; allow 4.5–6 hours depending on stops). If you prefer not to drive long stretches, consider breaking journey with an overnight midway — but for this 4-day plan we return to Dwarka today.
Attend the morning aarti/darshan at Dwarkadhish Temple for a peaceful experience before crowds build — temple timings vary, so check for any special procession or queue arrangements.
Visit Rukmini Devi Temple and Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, both short drives from the main temple and important religious/architectural stops; check opening hours as some shrines open later in the morning.
If you want the island visit, take the ferry to Bet Dwarka to see the island temple and coastline; ferries normally operate during daylight (roughly 7:00am–5:00pm) but confirm schedules locally and allow 2–3 hours for the round trip.
Enjoy a final lunch (Gujarati thali or coastal dishes if you eat seafood) and pick up souvenirs like religious items and handicrafts from local markets before you depart.
Return to your hotel to check out and begin your onward journey/transfer to railway station or airport. Allow extra time for transfers to Veraval/Jamnagar/Rajkot depending on your travel plan.
