2-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Kumbhalgarh Fort
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Kumbhalgarh town

    Morning: Start your day early and head to the Kumbhalgarh Fort, situated on the top of a hill and surrounded by the Aravalli mountains. Explore the fort's long walls, temples, and palaces. Don't miss the Sound and Light Show, which showcases the fort's history and legends.
    Afternoon: Have lunch at the nearby local restaurants and enjoy the traditional Rajasthani cuisine. After lunch, head to the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to many endangered species like the sloth bear and leopard.
    Evening: End your day by watching the sunset from the fort's top. You can also opt for a camel ride around the fort and enjoy the beautiful view of the Aravallis.

  2. Day 2: Ranakpur Jain Temple
    1 hour 30 minutes (60 km) from Kumbhalgarh town

    Morning: After breakfast, head to the Ranakpur Jain Temple, which is known for its intricate carvings and architecture. This temple is made of white marble and is dedicated to Lord Adinath.
    Afternoon: Have lunch at the nearby restaurants and then head to the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to many endangered species like the sloth bear and leopard.
    Evening: End your day by visiting the Haldighati Museum, which is around 30 minutes from the temple. The museum showcases the history of the famous battle of Haldighati between Maharana Pratap and Akbar's army.
