Check in and fuel up — have breakfast at your hotel restaurant (many options like Heevan Retreat Gulmarg or other local hotels). Hearty Kashmiri or continental breakfast sets you up for the day.
Ride the Gulmarg Gondola up toward Apharwat Peak. Stage 1 typically runs from base to mid-station and Stage 2 goes higher toward snowfields — check current status (Stage 2 sometimes closed in heavy snow). Great for panoramic views and photography.
Spend time at the upper station for views, photos and optional snow activities (seasonal); equipment rentals and short guided activities usually available near the stations.
Trek or take a pony to the Khilanmarg viewpoint; this is excellent for panoramic views and easy-moderate trekking. Ponies and guides available on site.
Enjoy a Kashmiri breakfast or light meal — Ahdoos (famous Srinagar restaurant) is a great option if open; otherwise use a hotel café. Note: check exact opening times (many open around 9:00).
Relaxing shikara ride (60–90 minutes) through the floating gardens and houseboats on Dal Lake — iconic Srinagar experience. Operators run rides from early morning to evening.
Lunch at a well-regarded Srinagar restaurant (The Khyber or a reputable local eatery) to sample richer Kashmiri dishes or reliable North Indian cuisine.
Explore Hazratbal Shrine and the old city lanes for historic architecture and local markets; dress respectfully for shrine visits (6:00–20:00 generally open).
If accessible and not snowbound, trek to Alpather Lake (full day, strenuous) — note: Alpather is usually accessible late spring to early autumn; in November it may be snowbound. Alternative: skiing lessons or supervised snow activities near the Gondola (rentals and instructors available seasonally). Confirm availability before setting out.
