If your family is fit and prepared for a steep trek (typically 3–4 hour roundtrip including many steps), the living root bridges are unique — start early and carry water; otherwise enjoy viewpoints and shorter walks.
Return to Shillong (recommended for easier next-day transfer) or choose a local guesthouse in Cherrapunji to reduce driving. Decide based on family energy levels.
