Gangtok 4-Day Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Hanuman Tok
    15 mins (3.5 km) from Gangtok

    In the morning, visit Hanuman Tok, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple is located on top of a hill and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Afternoon, visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which is a museum and research center. In the evening, stroll through the MG Marg, the main market of Gangtok, and enjoy the local cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Tsongmo Lake
    2 hrs (40 km) from Gangtok

    Early morning, start your journey to Tsongmo Lake. This high altitude lake is surrounded by mountains and is considered sacred by the locals. Take a Yak ride around the lake and enjoy the picturesque view. Afternoon, explore the nearby Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to an Indian army soldier. Return to Gangtok in the evening and relax at your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Rumtek Monastery

Afternoon, visit the Enchey Monastery, a 200-year-old monastery located in the heart of Gangtok city. In the evening, explore the local markets and shop for souvenirs.
