Leave by car/scooter after a quick fuel check and head south on the SH/NH coastal roads — the drive is scenic with coconut groves and small villages. This positions you at the quieter southern beaches before the late-afternoon crowds.
A wide, quiet beach known for its clean sand and olive ridley turtle nesting (seasonal signage). Walk the shoreline, look for turtles from a distance (nesting season guidance in place) and enjoy the tranquillity; beaches are public and best visited during daylight hours.
Short coastal drive to Palolem village — good road and easy parking; this moves you to the main hub for food, restrooms and short local shops. Palolem is the best place on this route for a proper lunch stop.
Enjoy a hearty Goan/Indian thali or fresh seafood at a popular Palolem shack/restaurant; these places typically serve until late evening and are reliable for fresh local dishes. Good for refuelling before beach walks; expect family-style, casual beach dining.
Walk Palolem's crescent beach, swim or rent a kayak; Palolem is lively but still relaxed in late afternoon — beach facilities and shacks are open generally from morning till around 7–9pm. Great spot for photography and short water activities.
Drive/park near the access point then either walk or take a short local boat to the Cola lagoon and beach; Cola is a secluded inlet with a small lagoon ideal for pictures and a tranquil swim. Note: boats and trekked access usually operate within daylight (roughly 9:00am–5:00pm), so plan arrival before late evening.
Short scenic drive north to Cabo de Rama; aim to arrive at least 30–45 minutes before sunset so you can choose the best cliff viewpoint. The fort sits on a headland with wide west-facing views — one of the most dramatic sunset spots in South Goa.
Watch the sun sink over the Arabian Sea from the fort's ramparts and cliffs for dramatic colours and panoramic views; the fort area is best enjoyed before dusk — public access is usually daylight hours (roughly 8:00am–6:30pm, but locals often stay until sunset). Arrive early enough to walk to multiple vantage points.
After sunset, return to Palolem for dinner — try Dropadi's or Art Resort again for reliable Goan seafood and vegetarian options, typically open until 9:30–10:00pm. Eating back in Palolem gives more choice and easier late-night return to Benaulim.
Return to Benaulim on the coastal route; expect roughly 1–1.5 hours depending on traffic and stops. If you prefer, pause for chai or a quick beach-side coconut on the way back.
