Touch down at Dabolim (approx 3:00PM). Collect pre-booked taxi or rental car and head south to Colva/Benaulim — the quickest base for your first night (30–45 minutes).
Stretch your legs with an easy sunset walk along Colva Beach — a long sandy stretch with a lively local atmosphere. Beaches are open all day; ideal to unwind on arrival day.
Martin's Corner is a legendary Goan seafood spot close by (open mid-day to late evening); otherwise opt for a beach shack for fresh fish and Goan curry. A great first-night introduction to Goan cuisine.
Fuel up with a hearty breakfast — choose local options like poi bread, Goan omelette or continental dishes before the drive south. Most cafés open by 7:00–8:00AM.
Palolem is known for its scenic bay, calm waters and colourful shacks. Swim, sunbathe or rent a kayak; the beach is publicly accessible and open all day.
Enjoy a seafood thali or Goan curry at Dropadi or one of the beach shacks — great views and fresh catch of the day. Most eateries serve lunch from noon until late afternoon.
Take a short motor-boat ride to the secluded Butterfly Beach — boats typically run from c.09:00–16:00 but times vary, so confirm locally. The bay is picturesque and great for photos.
Choose an on-beach restaurant for relaxed dinner — try Goan prawn curry or fish recheado. Most beach restaurants are open until late (check individual opening times).
If you want wildlife, take an early-morning dolphin trip (boats usually depart 06:00–07:30). Morning trips increase sighting chances — check with local operators the evening before.
Short coastal drive to historic Cabo de Rama Fort (open c.09:00–18:00). Explore the fort walls, lighthouse views and excellent vistas over the Arabian Sea.
If you prefer a nature stop, drive inland to a nearby waterfall area like Netravali for forest walks (sites normally accessible 08:00–17:00). Note this adds driving time: plan accordingly.
Return to your chosen base for dinner — enjoy a relaxed meal of Goan fish, crab or vegetarian options at a beachfront shack. Shacks typically operate until late evening.
Leave the south coast mid-morning and stop in Margao (approx 1–1.5 hr drive from Palolem) to browse the municipal market for spices, cashews and souvenirs. Markets are busiest and open c.08:00–14:00.
Drive from Margao to Dabolim Airport (approx 30–40 minutes). Allow extra time for traffic and vehicle return — domestic check-in recommended 2 hours before flight, international 3 hours.
Arrive at the terminal, complete check-in and security, and use airport lounges or cafés to relax before departure. Adjust this timing to suit your flight time: aim to be at the airport 2–3 hours before departure.
