Land at Jeddah (King Abdulaziz Intl) and transfer by private car or shuttle to Makkah (approx 1h15m–1h45m depending on traffic). Do visa checks and rest on route.
Al-Masjid al-Haram is open 24/7 — perform initial tawaf and short prayers; evening is less hot and often very spiritual. Good time to collect Zamzam if needed.
Complete the formal Umrah rituals in order: enter Ihram, perform Tawaf around the Kaʿbah, Sa'i between Safa and Marwa, and final hair cut/shave. The Haram is open 24/7 so you can perform at most convenient times, but mornings are less crowded.
Short visit to view Maqam Ibrahim area and collect Zamzam water if required; areas for Zamzam collection operate throughout the day — expect queues at peak times.
Return to Haram for a quieter evening prayer and optional extra tawaf; the mosque remains open 24/7 — best to avoid peak Maghrib times if you prefer space.
Hike to the Cave of Hira (moderate to strenuous, ~1.5–2 hours up depending on pace). Visit at daylight for safety; there are no formal opening hours but hiking is recommended in daylight only.
Explore the clock-tower complex, shopping and viewpoints; check the observation deck/museum opening hours in advance (often 9:00am–9:00pm but can change).
Attend Fajr — many pilgrims hope to pray in the Rawdah (area between Prophet's pulpit and his tomb). Check access rules and queuing times (Rawdah times often scheduled).
Take the Haramain train back to Makkah (~2h10m) or choose a private transfer (~4h); train is recommended for speed and comfort. Confirm schedules a day prior.
