Viewed by 113 travelers
Day 1 · Sat, Nov 29
Yercaud town center and Yercaud Lake

Arrival, Scenic Viewpoints & Lakefront Stroll

Morning:

Arrive in Yercaud and settle into your hill-station accommodation in or near the town center, then stretch your legs with a short walk to the nearby Lady's Seat for panoramic views of the valley and early morning cloud play. Pop into the small local market afterward to pick up fresh homemade jams or a steaming cup of filter coffee from a roadside stall before heading toward Pagoda Point for another quick vantage point.

Afternoon:

After a relaxed lunch of South Indian fare at a local café, spend the afternoon exploring Yercaud Lake — hire a paddle boat or take a lakeside walk beneath eucalyptus trees, stopping to photograph the reflections and the small gardens that border the water. If time allows, visit the nearby Deer Park or the quaint Botanical Garden for a peaceful stroll among flowering shrubs and spice plantings.

Evening:

Return to town as the light softens and follow the winding road up to Observatory Point or the lesser-known Shevaroy viewpoint to watch the sunset over misty hills, then descend for a cozy dinner at a terrace restaurant overlooking the valley. End the night with a slow cup of local coffee on your hotel balcony, listening to the distant calls of night birds and the hush of the hills.

Day 2 · Sun, Nov 30
Plantation belt, Pagoda Point and Lady's Seat area

Coffee Plantations, Waterfalls & Sunset at Secret View

Morning:

Wake to the aroma of hill coffee and head out for a guided walk through a working coffee estate near the Salem-Yercaud road, where you’ll learn about shade-grown beans, see ripening cherries, and sample freshly brewed filter coffee straight from the roaster. After the estate tour, visit the small family-run spice garden nearby to taste roadside jackfruit or cardamom and enjoy sweeping views back toward Pagoda Point as the valley light warms.

Afternoon:

Drive toward Killiyur Falls for a refreshing short trek — follow the shaded path past small streams to viewpoints over the cascade, then enjoy a picnic lunch on the plateau or at a scenic spot beside the falls; if you prefer gentler options, stop at the Botanical Garden’s lesser-known nursery to see local orchids and spice shrubs. Later, meander through dotted plantations toward Lady’s Seat again, stopping at a village café to try a homemade pudding or a steaming bowl of rasam before the evening climb.

Evening:

Return to Pagoda Point and then hike a short, quiet trail to the nearby Secret View (a less-crowded vantage near Shevaroy Hills) to watch the sun dip behind layered ridges, painting the valley in gold and rose — have your camera ready for silhouettes of eucalyptus and coffee bushes. Finish with a leisurely dinner at a terrace restaurant in town, sipping Yercaud filter coffee and reflecting on the day’s scents and sounds beneath a sky full of stars.
