Viewed by 156 travelers
Day 1 · Sat, Dec 6
Warangal

Arrival by Train, Bike Pickup & Historic Fort Exploration

Morning:

Arrive at Warangal railway station and pick up your pre-booked rental bike nearby—take a few minutes to adjust the seat and check the helmet before heading toward the heart of the city. Ride straight to the iconic Warangal Fort (Kakatiya Fort), explore the impressive stone gateways, the 13th-century ruins and the nearby Kush Mahal; stop for a local chai at a stall outside the fort to soak in the atmosphere before continuing the day.

Afternoon:

After a leisurely morning, cruise a short distance to the Thousand Pillar Temple in Hanamkonda for a guided look at its carved pillars and intricate Kakatiya-era sculptures, and grab a hearty Andhra thali at a nearby restaurant for lunch. Post-lunch, take your bike to the nearby Bhadrakali Temple and the picturesque Bhadrakali Lake—wander the temple precincts, enjoy lakeside views and capture sunset-ready photos of the surrounding hills.

Evening:

Return toward the city center for a relaxed evening ride through local streets, stopping to browse the busy bazaars around Station Road for brassware and Warangal ikat textiles. Finish the day with a casual dinner at a popular local eatery—sample pagi biryani or a spicy Chettinad-style curry—then park your bike at the guesthouse and rest up for the Laknavaram ride planned tomorrow.

Day 2 · Sun, Dec 7
Warangal District

Temple Circuit, Laknavaram Lake Ride & Local Markets

Morning:

Start early on your rented bike and ride the short distance from Hanamkonda to the serene Ramappa (Rudreswara) Temple — arrive as the morning light brings out the red sandstone carvings and take time to admire the floating bricks and intricately carved pillars while avoiding the mid-day crowd. Afterwards, head back toward Warangal to visit the venerable Bhimeshwara and Padmakshi temples in the old town, offering a quieter glimpse of local worship and beautiful stone work; grab a quick breakfast of idli-dosa and filter coffee at a roadside eatery before setting off for Laknavaram.

Afternoon:

Make the scenic 60-70 km ride to Laknavaram Lake, enjoying rural Telangana roads and stopping for photos at small villages along the way; once at the lake, park the bike and take the coracle/boat ride across the emerald water to the island temples and wooded pavilions, followed by a leisurely picnic or lunch at one of the lakeside stalls. If time allows, cycle the short loop around the reservoir to reach the hanging bridge for panoramic views and some relaxed birdwatching before returning toward Warangal in late afternoon.

Evening:

Back in Warangal, unwind with a slow ride through Station Road and the bazaars near the fort, hunting for Warangal ikat sarees, brassware and local snacks like hot mirchi bajji or karapodi idli; stop at a recommended family-run restaurant for a comforting Andhra-style dinner featuring pulusu or biryani. Finish the day by parking the bike at your guesthouse, enjoying a final chai while reviewing photos from the trip, and preparing for train departure or the next leg of your journey.
