5-Day Honeymoon Itinerary for Manali, Shimla and Kasol in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Manali Arrival
    Starting Point: Kullu–Manali Airport

    Upon arrival at Kullu-Manali airport, check-in at your hotel and take some rest. In the morning, visit the Hadimba Devi Temple, a beautiful wooden temple surrounded by cedar forests. In the afternoon, take a stroll around the Mall Road and indulge in some local shopping. In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner at a nearby restaurant.

  2. Day 2: Brigu Lake and Atal Tunnel
    Distance & Time: 25 km, 1.5 hrs from Manali

    Start your day early in the morning and drive to Brigu Lake, a peaceful and serene lake located at an altitude of 4,300 meters. Afterward, drive through the newly inaugurated Atal Tunnel, one of the longest tunnels in the world, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding mountains. In the evening, return to Manali and spend the night at the hotel.

  3. Day 3: Rohtang Pass and Bijli Mahadev
    Distance & Time: 123 km, 5 hrs from Manali

    Leave early in the morning and drive to Rohtang Pass, one of the most scenic locations in Himachal Pradesh. Enjoy the spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains and take a walk in the fresh mountain air. Afterward, drive to Bijli Mahadev Temple, a prominent Hindu temple located on a hill and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Return to Manali in the evening and spend the night at the hotel.

  4. Day 4: Kasol and Tosh
    Distance & Time: 76 km, 3 hrs from Manali

    Drive to Kasol, a charming village located on the banks of the Parvati River. Take a walk around the village, explore the local markets and indulge in some Israeli cuisine. Afterward, drive to Tosh, a beautiful village located at an altitude of 7,900 feet, known for its scenic beauty and trekking trails. Return to Manali in the evening and spend the night at the hotel.

  5. Day 5: Solang Valley and Shimla Departure
    Distance & Time: 269 km, 8 hrs from Manali

    Visit the Solang Valley, a popular tourist destination known for its adventure sports like skiing, paragliding, and zorbing. Afterward, head towards Shimla and explore the city's famous attractions like The Ridge, Mall Road, and Christ Church. In the evening, take a flight back home.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day in Manali, you can visit the Naggar Castle, a historical castle located on the way to Kullu. You can also explore the nearby villages of Kullu, like Naggar, Jana, or Malana. Another popular side trip is to visit the hot springs of Vashisht, located about 3 km from Manali. To maximize your fun, you can try some adventure sports like paragliding, skiing, and zorbing in Solang Valley. You can also go for a romantic walk around the Mall Road in the evening. If you want to experience the local culture, you can attend the Manali Winter Carnival, held in January every year. Overall, make sure to carry warm clothes as the temperature can be chilly in the early mornings and late evenings.
