Day 1 · Sat, Dec 13
Navi Mumbai → Shirdi

Early-Morning Departure, Darshan & Return

4:00 AM:

Wake-up and final packing; quick tea/snack at home or hotel in Navi Mumbai. Double-check essentials: ID, darshan token/confirmation, phone, power bank, cash and medicines.

4:15 AM:

Leave Navi Mumbai by car (private/taxi) or board a pre-booked tempo traveler/Swift for the road trip. Aim to start early to avoid daytime traffic on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and NH60.

4:15 AM-7:45 AM:

Drive straight to Shirdi (approx. 3.5-4 hours non-stop under good traffic). Enjoy light breakfast en route at a trusted highway stop such as Vaishali Restaurant (Panvel) or Shree Samarth Bhojnalay (Lonavala) if you prefer a short break.

7:45 AM:

Arrive in Shirdi; park near the Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir parking area. Stretch and freshen up in parking/restroom facilities; head toward the mandir complex.

8:00 AM:

Collect any pre-booked darshan tokens or register at the Pilgrim Facilitation Center (if required). If you haven’t booked, inquire at the help desk for current queue/darshan options—express/free darshan windows change by day.

8:15 AM-9:30 AM:

Queue for darshan or join the express line. If you have VIP/express booking, proceed to the designated queue for quicker access. Use this time to observe the mandir rituals and read about Sai Baba’s life.

9:30 AM-10:00 AM:

Darshan of Sai Baba at the Samadhi Mandir, offering flowers, chappals, or incense as desired. Spend a few moments in silent prayer and touch the sanctum rail if permitted.

10:00 AM:

Visit nearby shrines inside the complex: Dwarkamai and Gurusthan. Walk the peaceful premises and take photos where allowed.

10:20 AM:

If interested, visit the Sai Baba Museum (nearby) to learn more about Baba’s life and see relics and old photos.

10:50 AM:

Attend or observe the Aarti schedule if your timing aligns (Sabal Aarti times vary—confirm onsite). If not present for Aarti, consider spending quiet time in the temple courtyard.

11:15 AM:

Head to lunch: have a sattvic/vegetarian meal at Hotel Sai Leela Restaurant (near the mandir) or Restaurant Panchavati (popular with pilgrims) for thali and local Maharashtrian-style simple food.

12:00 PM:

After lunch, visit the Shirdi market area: buy prasad (sweets), udipi-style snacks, and souvenirs such as Baba photos, chokers, and holy ash (udi) packets from trusted shops like Anandi Electronics & General or Sai Prasad stores.

12:30 PM:

If time allows, take a short visit to Lendi Baug (Baba’s favorite garden) for a peaceful walk among the banyan trees and to see the water spring and plants associated with Baba’s life.

1:00 PM:

Return to the mandir complex for any additional rituals—offer Udi, seek blessings, or tie a thread at the designated spot if part of your practice.

1:30 PM:

Begin preparing for departure; collect belongings from hotel/left luggage. Use restroom and top up water/snacks for the return drive.

1:45 PM:

Depart Shirdi to start the drive back toward Navi Mumbai. Consider taking the same route (NH60 + Mumbai-Pune Expressway) for predictable travel time.

1:45 PM-5:15 PM:

Drive back to Navi Mumbai with a brief stop en route for tea and refreshments at a reliable highway restaurant such as Hotel highway delights or Hotel Natraj (depending on route). Stretch legs and switch drivers if possible.

5:15 PM:

Estimated arrival back in Navi Mumbai (traffic dependent). Return vehicle to parking/home, unpack your personal items and rest briefly.

5:30 PM:

If energy allows, end the day with a light evening snack or simple dinner at home or at a local favorite like Barbeque Nation (Vashi) or Street-food in Belapur—reflect on the pilgrimage and sort any prasad/udi.

7:00 PM:

Settle down for the night: wash, relax, and organize photos and purchases from the trip. If desired, write a short note about the day’s spiritual experience and any follow-up ritual plans at home.
