Viewed by 203 travelers
Day 1 · Sat, Dec 20
Kevadia (Statue of Unity)

Travel from Indore — Arrival & Statue of Unity Sunset Visit

Morning:

Leave Indore early and drive or take the morning train toward Kevadia, aiming to arrive late morning; stop for a quick breakfast at a highway dhaba or at Bharuch for chai and local snacks to keep energy up. Check in to your Kevadia hotel or guesthouse, freshen up, and head to the Statue of Unity complex to collect tickets and orientation materials so you’re ready for the afternoon visit.

Afternoon:

After lunch at one of the complex cafés, walk the grounds and visit the Valley of Flowers viewpoint and the echo point for panoramic views of the Narmada and the Sardar Sarovar Dam; don’t miss the audio-visual gallery and the Sardar Patel Museum inside the complex to learn the history behind the statue. If you’ve booked the elevator, take the guided trip up to the viewing gallery in the statue for sweeping vistas across the reservoir (book in advance for peak season).

Evening:

Return to the riverfront in time for the sunset light show — watch the Statue of Unity bathed in golden light and stick around for the evening illumination and the laser show if available, which creates a dramatic end to the day. After the show, enjoy a relaxed dinner at your hotel or a nearby restaurant serving Gujarati or North Indian fare, and rest up for a full day exploring nearby attractions tomorrow.

Day 2 · Sun, Dec 21
Kevadia — En route to Indore

Explore Nearby Attractions: Valley of Flowers, Sardar Patel Museum & Return to Indore

Morning:

Wake up refreshed after last night’s light show and head first to the Valley of Flowers early to enjoy cooler air and the gardens at their most peaceful; stroll the well-kept pathways, photograph seasonal blooms and the sculpted landscapes, and stop at the viewpoint for one last panorama of the Sardar Sarovar reservoir. From there, visit the nearby Zarwani Waterfall/riverbank (season permitting) for a short nature walk and a chai break at a local stall before returning to town to check out of your hotel.

Afternoon:

Spend the afternoon back at the Statue of Unity complex to visit the Sardar Patel Museum and the audio-visual gallery you may have skimmed yesterday — take your time with exhibits covering Patel’s life and the dam’s engineering, and enjoy lunch at the complex’s cafeteria or at the Ekta Cafeteria with its simple Gujarati thali. If you haven’t yet taken the Valley of Flowers viewing platform or the Cactus Garden, fit those in now; otherwise board your pre-booked vehicle and begin the drive toward Indore, stopping en route at the Shivpuri viewpoint or the Narmada river ghats for photos and refreshments.

Evening:

Continue the drive to Indore with a planned dinner stop at a highway restaurant or in Bharuch for local specialties, arriving in Indore later in the evening; unpack, relax, and reflect on the dramatic statue views, the tranquil gardens, and the museum stories that rounded out a compact, memorable weekend. If energy remains, take a short walk near your hotel in Indore to grab an early-morning snack for the next day or simply enjoy a chai and the city’s night ambiance before bedtime.
