The serene atmosphere and beautiful architecture make it a must-visit spot. Visitors need to pre-book their visit at the Auroville Visitor Center.

  3. 2:00PM: Ramanathaswamy Temple, Rameshwaram
    4.5 hours (177 km) from Auroville

    One of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples, Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site. The temple boasts of an intricate Dravidian-style architecture and a 4000-feet long corridor adorned with pillars. The temple also has 22 water bodies believed to have divine healing properties.

  4. 6:00PM: Meenakshi Amman Temple, Madurai
    3 hours (172 km) from Ramanathaswamy Temple

    Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi, a form of Parvati. The temple complex is a marvel of Dravidian architecture with a massive gopuram (tower) at the entrance. The temple also houses a beautiful lotus-shaped pond and a hall with 1000 pillars.

  5. 9:00PM: Kodaikanal Lake
    3 hours (116 km) from Meenakshi Amman Temple

    Kodaikanal Lake is a beautiful man-made lake surrounded by hills and forests. Visitors can take a boat ride on the lake or enjoy a picnic on its banks. The nearby Coaker’s Walk offers a scenic view of the valley and hills. You can also visit the nearby Bryant Park to see a variety of exotic flora.

  6. 11:00PM: Coimbatore
    4.5 hours (123 km) from Kodaikanal Lake

    End your day with a visit to Coimbatore, known as the Manchester of South India. The city boasts a rich cultural heritage and is famous for its temples, museums, and shopping. You can visit the Marudamalai Murugan Temple or the Gedee Car Museum to learn more about the city's history.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, you can visit the Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry or the Palani Murugan Temple in Kodaikanal. You can also take a side trip to Ooty, known for its tea plantations and beautiful scenery. To maximize your fun, try to start early and plan your itinerary accordingly.
