4-Day Itinerary for Spiti Valley in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kaza
    6 hours (210 km) from Shimla

    In the morning, visit the Ki Monastery, famous for its ancient murals and books. In the afternoon, head to Kibber Village, located at a height of 4270 meters, to witness its beautiful landscapes and wildlife. In the evening, explore Kaza Bazaar, known for its handicrafts and souvenirs.

  2. Day 2: Tabo
    1 hour (47 km) from Kaza

    Visit the Tabo Monastery, founded in 996 AD and known for its ancient wall paintings, and sculptures. In the afternoon, head to the Dhankar Monastery, perched on a cliff, to enjoy beautiful views of the Spiti Valley. In the evening, explore the village of Tabo.

  3. Day 3: Chandratal Lake
    7 hours (120 km) from Tabo

    In the morning, drive to Chandratal Lake, located at a height of 4300 meters, to witness its crystal clear water and beautiful surroundings. In the afternoon, go for a short trek around the lake. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and stargazing.

  4. Day 4: Manali
    8 hours (140 km) from Chandratal Lake

    Head to Manali, a popular hill station in Himachal Pradesh, to explore its beautiful landscapes and local markets. In the afternoon, visit the Hadimba Temple, known for its unique architecture. In the evening, stroll around the Mall Road and enjoy a local meal before departing for home.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Pin Valley National Park, known for its wildlife and natural beauty. You can also go for a trek to the Hampta Pass or the Bhrigu Lake.
