New York City Half-Day Itinerary — December 15, 2025: Statue of Liberty Views, Rockefeller Center & Times Square

Day 1 · Mon, Dec 15
New York City (Manhattan & Battery Park)

Half-day NYC highlights: Statue of Liberty views, Rockefeller Center & Times Square

7:30 PM:

Arrive at Penn Station bus terminal (8th Ave & W 31st St area) and gather your things; confirm your 8:30 PM departure details and store small bags with Amtrak/Greyhound if needed.

7:40 PM:

Quick street-food snack or coffee: step into The Little Beet or Pret A Manger inside or near Penn Station for a light bite to hold you until dinner, and map your route to Battery Park and Rockefeller Center for any last adjustments.

8:00 PM:

Walk or take the 1 train downtown from 34th St-Penn Station toward South Ferry (approx. 25-30 minutes) while enjoying evening city views on the ride; use this time to check directions to Battery Park and confirm ferry/boat schedules if you planned a twilight sighting from a boat (note: Statue cruises run earlier).

8:30 PM:

If you must depart at 8:30 PM from Penn, begin heading back to Penn Station now; otherwise, if your bus/train leaves later, continue to Battery Park for views. (If leaving, use this time to board your coach/train.)

9:00 PM:

For those continuing the evening: arrive at Battery Park and take in nighttime views of the Statue of Liberty from the Esplanade — the silhouette is beautiful after dark and perfect for photos from Zuccotti Park or near the Battery Gardens entrance.

9:30 PM:

Head north via subway (R/W or 4/5 to 49-50 minutes depending on connections) toward Midtown to see Rockefeller Center’s famous holiday tree and ice rink; enjoy the festive lights and the Radio City Music Hall façade along the walk up 6th Avenue.

10:00 PM:

Arrive at Rockefeller Center to admire the tree and skating rink lights; pop into the Lego Store or FAO Schwarz (if still open) for a quick browse of holiday displays on 5th Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets.

10:30 PM:

Stroll up 5th Avenue window-shopping: stop by Saks Fifth Avenue’s holiday light projections at 49th Street and take in the festive window displays outside Bergdorf Goodman and St. Patrick’s Cathedral across the street.

11:00 PM:

Swing by Times Square for the neon spectacle — walk through the plaza, snap photos on the red steps, and soak in the energy of Midtown at night; grab a late dinner or substantial snack at Carmine’s (for family-style Italian) or Keens Steakhouse if open late and reservations allow.

12:00 AM:

If your schedule allows and you’re craving a view, visit The Edge at Hudson Yards (check last entry times; the outdoor deck often has limited late hours) for skyline views — otherwise, enjoy rooftop glimpses from nearby Hudson Yards public areas.

12:30 AM:

Return toward Penn Station: take the 7 or the 1/2/3/ A/C/E lines depending on your exact location, allowing 15-25 minutes for travel; pick up any final snacks or coffee at Penn Station vendors.

1:00 AM:

Arrive back at Penn Station; retrieve stored bags if any, confirm your 8:30 PM departure was earlier today or prepare for your actual later departure—this slot ensures you’re back and ready well before any overnight travel.
