4-Day Itinerary for Goa in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Fort Aguada
    20 minutes (7.5 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit Fort Aguada, a 17th-century Portuguese fort that overlooks the Arabian Sea. Take a tour of the fort's bastions, lighthouse, and the nearby church. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Sinquerim Beach for some sun, sand, and sea. In the evening, enjoy a seafood dinner at one of the beach shacks.

  2. Day 2: Basilica of Bom Jesus
    25 minutes (9 km) from Fort Aguada

    Start your day by visiting the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier. After that, head to the nearby Mangueshi Temple, one of the most popular Hindu temples in Goa. In the evening, visit the lively Panaji Market for some shopping and street food.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar Falls
    2 hours (70 km) from Panaji Market

    Take a day trip to the stunning Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. You can either trek to the waterfall or take a jeep safari through the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary. After your visit, head to the nearby spice plantations for a tour and some lunch. Return to Goa in the evening.

  4. Day 4: Palolem Beach
    1 hour 20 minutes (45 km) from Dudhsagar Falls

    On your last day, head to Palolem Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa. Spend your morning swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. In the afternoon, take a boat tour to see the nearby islands and enjoy some water sports. In the evening, watch the sunset while sipping on some cocktails at one of the beach bars.

Aside from the places mentioned in this itinerary, you can also consider visiting the Se Cathedral, the Chapora Fort, and the Anjuna Flea Market. For side trips, you can visit the nearby state of Karnataka to explore the ruins of Hampi or the wildlife at the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. To maximize your fun, try some of the water sports at Calangute Beach, or take a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River. Finally, don't forget to try some of the famous Goan cuisine, such as fish curry, pork vindaloo, and bebinca.
