Netravali Nature & Waterfalls Day — Savri & Mainapi

Morning:

Start early with a scenic drive from Agonda to the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary, arriving at the Savri parking area to begin a guided 45-60 minute walk through evergreen forest to Savri Waterfall — enjoy birdwatching, cinnamon and wild jackfruit trees en route, then cool off at the pool beneath the falls. After a short picnic breakfast on the riverbank, continue to the Mainapi valley trail for a gentle trek to Mainapi Waterfall, where a local naturalist will point out medicinal plants and you can wade in shallow pools before returning to your vehicle by late morning.

Afternoon:

After returning to the vehicle, drive a short distance to the Tanshikar Spice Farm for a hands-on guided tour where kids can smell and touch fresh pepper, cardamom and cinnamon plants, sample homemade coconut sweets, and learn how traditional Goan masalas are made. Follow this sensory stop with a relaxed picnic lunch under shade trees by the farm’s coconut grove, then continue to Salaulim Dam for a late-afternoon stroll along the reservoir promenade and gentle birdwatching as the light softens over the water.

Evening:

As the sun dips, head to a nearby village homestay for a warm coconut-based Goan dinner cooked over a wood fire, where kids can help roll belem (sweet rice rolls) and adults taste feni while swapping stories with your hosts. After dinner, enjoy a short guided night-walk along the homestay’s edge of reserved forest to spot nocturnal frogs and listening for barking deer — a gentle, family-friendly way to round off a day of waterfalls and spice gardens before returning to Agonda.
