Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a 16th-century church that houses the remains of St. Francis Xavier, and the Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia. In the afternoon, head to the Museum of Christian Art, which has a beautiful collection of Indo-Portuguese art and artifacts. In the evening, take a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River, which offers beautiful views of Panaji and the surrounding hills.

Recommendations

Don't miss the Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India, which is located about 46 miles from Panaji. You can take a day trip or an overnight camping trip to the falls. Another great side trip is to the spice plantations in Ponda, which offer tours and tastings of spices and herbs. To maximize your fun, consider renting a scooter or a car to explore the region at your own pace. And remember to try the local cuisine, which is a fusion of Indian and Portuguese flavors.
