Diu to Alang Day Trip Itinerary — 2026-01-04

Day 1 · Sun, Jan 4
Diu → Alang

Drive/Boat from Diu to Alang (Transit Day)

Morning:

After a relaxed late start, enjoy a coastal breakfast at Nagoa Beach while watching local fishermen prepare dhows, then pack for the short drive to the boat launch. Mid-morning, meet your boat crew at Diu Jetty, board a motor-launch, and cruise past the fortified coastline-keep an eye out for nesting terns and the crumbling silhouette of Diu Fort from the water-before arriving at the sheltered slip that serves as the staging point for Alang visits.

Afternoon:

After the morning launch, spend the afternoon exploring the skeletal giants of the shipbreaking yards from safe vantage points: step onto the viewing platform by Gopnath Bay for panoramic sights of hulks being dismantled and scan the shoreline for workers using hand tools and cranes. Later, take a guided shoreline walk toward Vansda Creek, where local guides explain the salvage process up close and you'll pause at a rustic beachside stall for chai and freshly fried fish while watching tugs maneuvering stripped hulls into position.

Evening:

As the light softens, head to the sheltered estuary at Kodinar Point for a quiet sunset-length walk along mudflats where resident herons come in to roost and local fishermen mend nets; pause at Estuary View Cafe, a small riverside stall, for spiced chai and grilled pomfret while watching the tide. After dusk, join a short, guided dusk-boat back toward the staging slip-keep an eye out for phosphorescent ripples and listen as your guide recounts the yards' night routines at Alang Anchorage, then return to Diu or your nearby guesthouse, allowing time to freshen up before dinner.
