Transportation

Bali can be navigated via taxis, motorcycles, and buses. Visitors can rent cars with local drivers who know their way around the island. Renting a motorcycle is an affordable way to get around Bali; however, beginners should exercise caution. Balinese taxis are cheap compared to Western standards, while buses are cheaper than taxis but could be challenging to navigate. The cost of travel (including taxis, buses, and fuel) is approximately IDR 200,000 ($14 USD) per day. Get around Bali quickly, book a private car rental with a driver.

Useful tips

If you have more time, take a day trip to Nusa Lembongan to snorkel with the giant manta rays or visit the world-famous monkey forest in Ubud. If you have less time, reduce the number of destinations or extended your stay by a day or two in one location.

Airports

Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is Bali's main airport handling both international and domestic flights. It is located approximately 13km south of Denpasar city center and is approximately 30-40 minutes' drive to Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak.
