7-Day Nature Itinerary for Spiti Valley in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Kaza
    4 hours 30 minutes (213 km) from Bhuntar Airport

    In the morning, visit the Ki Monastery, one of the largest and oldest monasteries in Spiti Valley. In the afternoon, explore the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary, home to snow leopards and Himalayan wolves. In the evening, head to the Kaza market and try some local cuisine.

  2. Day 2: Langza

    Start your day with a visit to the fossils at Langza, which are estimated to be millions of years old. In the afternoon, head to Hikkim and send a postcard from the world's highest post office. End your day with a visit to the Buddha statue in Langza.

  3. Day 3: Komic
    30 minutes (18.1 km) from Langza

    Visit the Komic Monastery in the morning, which is the highest motorable monastery in the world. In the afternoon, take a short hike to the nearby Hikkim village, where you can interact with the locals and learn about their way of life. Enjoy the beautiful sunset at Komic before heading back to your hotel.

  4. Day 4: Pin Valley National Park
