Exploring Kedarnath and Badrinath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Kedarnath Temple
    4 hours 30 minutes (117 km) from Dehradun

    In the morning, visit the popular Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is located at a height of 3,583 meters, which can be reached via a 14 km trek from Gaurikund. After darshan, explore the nearby Gandhi Sarovar and Vasuki Tal. In the afternoon, head to Sonprayag for some local shopping and try the famous Kachori served at local stalls. In the evening, attend the evening aarti at the temple and enjoy the serene beauty of the surrounding mountains.

  2. Day 2: Visit Badrinath Temple
    5 hours 30 minutes (160 km) from Kedarnath

    Begin your day early to visit the renowned Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which is located at an altitude of 3,133 meters. Take a dip in the Tapt Kund before seeking blessings at the temple. Afterwards, visit the Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Tibet border, and explore the famous Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. In the afternoon, enjoy some local delicacies like Kachmauli and Bhatt ki Churdkani. In the evening, attend the evening aarti at the temple.

  3. Day 3: Explore Auli
    2 hours 30 minutes (55 km) from Badrinath

    On your last day, visit the picturesque hill station of Auli, which is known for its panoramic views of the Himalayas and skiing opportunities. Take a cable car ride to Auli from Joshimath and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surroundings. In the afternoon, go for a nature walk or trek to Gurson Bugyal and witness the beauty of the lush green meadow. Later, visit the artificial lake at Auli and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by nature before heading back to the hotel.
