If you have extra time, consider visiting the Yala National Park, home to leopards, elephants, and crocodiles. You can also take a train ride through the scenic tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya. For adrenaline junkies, try white-water rafting in Kitulgala or surfing in Arugam Bay. To maximize your fun, try to book early morning tours to avoid the crowds and afternoon heat. Remember to bring plenty of sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. Lastly, don't forget to try Sri Lankan cuisine, which is a fusion of Indian, Malay, and Dutch influences, and is known for its spicy and flavourful dishes.
