Sri Lanka Bachelorette Party - 4 Day Itinerary - July 2023

  1. Day 1: Colombo
    35 minutes (19.9 km) from Bandaranaike International Airport

    Morning: Visit the Gangaramaya Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka, featuring a mix of modern architecture and cultural heritage. In the afternoon, take a tuk-tuk ride to the Galle Face Green promenade to enjoy the scenic Indian Ocean view and delicious street food. In the evening, indulge in some shopping at the Odel shopping mall, which offers a wide range of clothing, accessories and souvenirs.

  2. Day 2: Kandy
    2 hours 40 minutes (116 km) from Colombo

    Morning: Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred places for Buddhists all around the world and also a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, head to the Royal Botanic Gardens to take a walk around the beautiful gardens and see the various species of plants. In the evening, visit the Kandy Lake and enjoy the view of the lake surrounded by hills.

  3. Day 3: Mirissa
    4 hours 30 minutes (150 km) from Kandy

    Morning: Take a whale watching boat tour in the Indian Ocean from Mirissa Harbour, which is famous for having whales and dolphins all year round. In the afternoon, head to Mirissa Beach and spend some time sunbathing or surfing. In the evening, visit the Secret Beach and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

  4. Day 4: Galle
    1 hour 20 minutes (56 km) from Mirissa

    Morning: Visit the Galle Fort, which was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, take a stroll around the Old Town and visit the Maritime Museum and the National Museum of Galle. In the evening, head to the Jungle Beach for some snorkelling or just relax on the beach.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider taking a trip to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Sri Lanka's most impressive landmarks. You can also visit the Yala National Park, which is home to Sri Lankan elephants, leopards, and other wildlife. For a unique experience, take a cooking class to learn how to prepare some traditional Sri Lankan dishes. Additionally, make sure to try some of the famous local teas and spices.

To maximize your fun, make sure to try some of the local food and drinks, such as hoppers, kottu, and arrack. You can also take a night safari to see some of Sri Lanka's nocturnal wildlife. For side trips, consider visiting the nearby islands of Pigeon Island and Nainativu Island, which are known for their beautiful beaches and coral reefs.
