Recommendations

If you have extra time in Bhutan, consider taking a side trip to the Phobjikha Valley to visit the Gangtey Goenpa or to the Chele La Pass for stunning views of the Himalayas. To maximize your experience, try the local cuisine, including momos and Ema Datshi (chili cheese). We also recommend taking part in a traditional Bhutanese archery competition and getting a traditional Bhutanese dress (Kira for women and Gho for men) made for you.
