Explore Hampi and Coorg in August 2023

1. Day 1: Hampi
   30 minutes (15 miles) from Hospet Junction Railway Station

   Visit the magnificent Virupaksha Temple in the morning, followed by exploring the Elephant Stables and Hazara Rama Temple in the afternoon. Catch the sunset at the famous Hemakuta Hill in the evening.

2. Day 2: Hampi
   20 minutes (5 miles) from Hampi Bazaar

   Explore the coffee plantations and learn about the process of coffee-making. Later visit the Dubare Elephant Camp to feed and bathe elephants. End your day with a visit to the Madikeri Fort and the Raja's Seat to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

4. Day 4: Coorg
   30 minutes (15 miles) from Madikeri

   Visit the Talacauvery Temple and Bhagamandala in the morning, which are situated at the origin of the Cauvery River. Head to the Abbey Falls in the afternoon and enjoy nature's beauty at it's best. End your day by taking a walk at the Raja's Tomb.

5. Day 5: Coorg
   1 hour (40 miles) from Madikeri

   Start your day by visiting the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple. Later, visit the Chikli Dam to enjoy the scenic beauty and take a boat ride. In the evening, visit the Chelavara Falls to witness the spectacular waterfalls.

6. Day 6: Coorg
   30 minutes (10 miles) from Kushalnagar

   Visit the Dubare Reserve Forest and take a jungle safari to witness the wildlife in their natural habitat. Later, visit the Harangi Dam for a stunning view of the dam and the surrounding landscape. End your day by visiting the Nisargadhama, an island formed by the river Cauvery.

7. Day 7: Coorg
   2 hours (80 miles) from Madikeri

   Take a day trip to the beautiful hill station of Ooty and explore the Botanical Gardens, Doddabetta Peak and the Ooty Lake. On your way back, visit the Pykara Waterfalls and the Pykara Lake for a peaceful evening.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Gaddige, Tadiandamol Peak, and Irupu Falls in Coorg. A side trip to the Hampi UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must for history buffs.
