1-Night Pilgrimage from Bangalore to Mantralaya — March 30–31, 2026

Day 1 · Mon, Mar 30
Mantralaya (Ramanagara district / Mantralaya, Andhra Pradesh — pilgrimage site)

Travel from Bangalore and Darshan at Mantralaya

Morning:

Depart Bangalore early and stop for a hearty South Indian breakfast at MTR or a local highway dhaba en route to recharge before reaching Mantralaya; enjoy filter coffee and idli-sambar while watching the countryside roll by. On arrival, head straight to the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt for morning aarti and a serene walk around the temple complex, then visit the nearby Brindavanagari Gardens for contemplative time among landscaped paths and the mutt's library to view manuscripts and offer darshan in a calm, focused setting.

Afternoon:

After a peaceful morning aarti, spend the afternoon exploring the riverside calm near Gautami River, where you can perform simple rituals, offer flowers, and sit for quiet reflection on the ghats; local priests (pujaris) can assist with traditional offerings if you wish. Later, visit the nearby Sri Guru Raghavendra Museum to see relics, photographs and manuscripts, then stroll through the village market to pick devotional books and local sweets before returning to your guesthouse for evening preparations.

Evening:

As dusk settles, walk to the peaceful Tungabhadra ghats for an intimate aarati by lamp-light and the soft sound of temple bells, where you can join locals offering lamps and prasad. Afterwards, enjoy a simple, soulful dinner at Annadanam Hall (local community dining) sampling rice, dal, and tempering-style sweets while listening to stories of Sri Raghavendra from resident devotees - a warm way to end a reflective day before retiring to your guesthouse.

Day 2 · Tue, Mar 31
Bangalore

Return to Bangalore — rest and travel

Morning:

After a gentle pre-departure puja at Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt the morning begins with a relaxed breakfast at Hotel Mayura or a nearby local eatery serving piping-hot rava idli and strong filter coffee before you hit the road. En route to Bangalore, pause at Siddalingeshwara Betta viewpoint for a short walk and panoramic photos, then stretch and browse for devotional keepsakes at the roadside Mantralaya souvenir stalls to carry the journey's blessings home.

Afternoon:

Begin the afternoon with a leisurely lunch at Sri Raghavendra Annadanam Hall Annex or a nearby family-run eatery serving soft curd rice and pulihora, then take a reflective walk along the banks of the Gautami-Tungabhadra confluence to savor the last moments of the pilgrimage and offer final prayers. Afterwards, stop by the quiet Mantralaya Local Bazaar to pick up freshly wrapped prasadam and devotional prints before boarding your return vehicle, allowing time to rest and read from any newly purchased spiritual book as the countryside unfolds on the drive back to Bangalore.

Evening:

After a calm roadside stop, unwind with a leisurely tea and snacks at Hotel Mayura Highway Annex before continuing toward the city; this is a good moment to reflect on the pilgrimage while flipping through any devotional purchases. Back in Bangalore, enjoy a restorative dinner at Raghavendra Bhavan (speciality South-Indian vegetable thali) and, if time and energy allow, take a short, peaceful stroll through Lalbagh Glass House lawns to ground yourself before bedtime.
