4-Day Bali Itinerary: Ubud, Uluwatu, and Seminyak

Day 1 · Thu, Apr 9
Ubud

Arrival in Ubud and Central Bali

Morning:

Ease into Ubud with a late-morning wander through Ubud Art Market, where you can browse batik, silver jewelry, and carved wood without the pre-dawn rush. If your arrival timing is tight, keep it light with a relaxed brunch at Clear Cafe and save the more active sightseeing for later, since today is best used to settle in and shake off the flight.

Afternoon:

Spend the afternoon settling into Ubud's slower rhythm with an easy visit to the Ubud Monkey Forest, where shaded paths, temple ruins, and cheeky macaques make for a classic first taste of central Bali. Afterwards, head toward Bridges Bali for a long, unhurried drink or early dinner overlooking the river gorge-it's an ideal way to decompress after travel without overdoing the first day.

Evening:

Keep the evening low-key with a slow dinner at Locavore if you can snag a reservation, or a more relaxed backup at Merah Putih for polished Indonesian dishes in a beautiful setting. After dinner, take a gentle stroll through central Ubud for a first feel of the town at night, when the streets are quieter, the incense drifts from nearby temples, and the whole pace finally matches the energy of an arrival day.

Day 2 · Fri, Apr 10
Ubud

Ubud Highlights and Rice Terraces

Morning:

Start the morning with the classic Ubud countryside loop at Tegallalang Rice Terraces, when the light is soft and the paddies are at their greenest for photos and short ridge walks. If you want a more hands-on Bali moment, stop at a nearby coffee plantation for a tasting of local brews and cacao, then swing back toward town for a late breakfast at a leafy warung or café before the day's temple and gallery exploring begins.

Afternoon:

Head into central Ubud for a cultural afternoon at Pura Taman Saraswati, where the lotus pond and carved stone gates make one of the prettiest quick stops in town. From there, browse the shaded lanes around Ubud Palace and the nearby art boutiques, then settle in at Seniman Coffee Studio or a similar café for a cool drink and a break before the evening temple atmosphere kicks in.

Evening:

As the heat drops, make your way to Campuhan Ridge Walk for an easy golden-hour stroll above the valleys, then continue into town for dinner at Hujan Locale, where the modern Indonesian menu feels right for a full day of sightseeing. If you still have energy, finish with a drink at a quiet rooftop or riverside bar near central Ubud so you can enjoy the town after dark, when the lanterns come on and the streets soften into a slower, more intimate rhythm.

Day 3 · Sat, Apr 11
Uluwatu

South Bali Temples and Beach Area

Getting there from Ubud
Private driver or Grab/Gojek car (about 1.5–2.5 hrs, ~IDR 350,000–600,000). Best to leave after breakfast / late morning to avoid Bali traffic and reach Uluwatu with the afternoon still free. Book via Grab, Gojek, or a local driver arranged through your hotel.
Shared shuttle (about 2–3 hrs, ~IDR 150,000–250,000). Cheaper, but less flexible and may be slower; book via Klook or 12Go.

Morning:

After you arrive in Uluwatu, keep the morning easy with check-in and a relaxed brunch near Bingin Beach or Padang Padang Beach, where you can ease into the south-coast pace with a cold juice and an ocean view. If you have time before the heat builds, do a short first stop at Uluwatu Temple for cliffside panoramas and a quick look around the grounds, saving the longer sunset visit for later in the day.

Afternoon:

After a slow brunch, spend the afternoon moving along Uluwatu's cliff-road circuit, starting with the surf views above Suluban Beach and then dropping down to the cave-lined shore if the tide is manageable. From there, linger at Single Fin for a cold drink and one of the best ocean panoramas in south Bali, or head to the white sand at Thomas Beach for a quieter swim and a more laid-back beach-club feel before the sunset crowd arrives.

Evening:

For sunset, head to Uluwatu Temple and arrive a bit early so you can walk the cliff edge in the softer light before the evening performance begins. The Kecak fire dance here is the classic Uluwatu send-off: dramatic chanting, ocean views dropping away beneath the stage, and just enough ceremony to make the whole day feel like it has built to something memorable. Afterward, keep dinner simple and close by with grilled seafood or a laid-back meal back up on the ridge, then finish with a nightcap while the coastline goes dark below you.

Day 4 · Sun, Apr 12
Seminyak

Seminyak and Canggu Coastal Area

Getting there from Uluwatu
Grab/Gojek car or private driver via the Bali coastal route/Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai (about 45–90 min, ~IDR 150,000–350,000). Best to depart mid-morning or after the main beach traffic eases; avoid sunset rush if possible. Book on Grab, Gojek, or with your hotel driver.
Bluebird taxi (about 45–90 min, ~IDR 200,000–350,000). Good backup if ride-hailing is limited in Uluwatu.

Morning:

Arrive in Seminyak and keep the morning mellow with a late breakfast or brunch at La Lucciola, where the beachfront setting and breezy, open-air tables make an easy first stop after the transfer. If you want a little more time to settle in, take a slow stroll along Petitenget Beach and the nearby boutique strip, then ease into the day with a coffee or juice before the busier beach-club hours begin.

Afternoon:

Spend the afternoon drifting north toward Canggu for a change of pace, starting with a slow lunch or coffee at The Lawn or another beachside hangout in Batu Bolong where the surf, scooters, and sunbathers create that easy late-day buzz. If you want to stay active, wander the boutiques and concept stores around Berawa or fit in a quick beach walk before heading back to Seminyak for a sunset drink and a smoother transition into the evening crowd.

Evening:

Wrap up the day with sunset drinks at Ku De Ta, where the oceanfront setting, polished crowd, and easy DJ soundtrack make it one of Seminyak's most reliable places to watch the sky turn pink. Afterward, head to Motel Mexicola for a lively dinner and a fun, high-energy finish, or keep it a little calmer with a late bite at Sarong if you want one last elegant meal before the trip winds down.
